Guideline 1
Access
- Electronic
equipment will only be used when a school staff member is present.
Guideline 2
Inappropriate material
- Although
the school does block inappropriate websites, if accidental access happens
to occur children will immediately turn off the screen and tell the staff
member present.
Guideline 3
Email
- Email
is provided for students to gather relevant constructive, informative, and
educational information and will not be used without specific consent from
a staff member.
Guideline 4
Use of electronic information
- Profanity
or obscene language will not be used in any email or fax messages.
- The
school network will not be used for online shopping, personal gain or
illegal activity.
- Deliberate
attempts to access offensive materials or hack into secure files will be
dealt with by the Principal or ICT team.
- Deliberate
attempts to spread viruses through the network will be dealt with by the
Principal or ICT team.
- Copyright,
privacy and international laws are to be abided by at all times.
Guideline 5
Safety and monitoring
- The
school is not liable for, and cannot be held responsible for loss of
material, accidental corruption or any other action that might affect the
transmission or loss of data.
The Principal, Deputy Principal or ICT team will
deal with any infringement of guidelines. Punishment will involve the
suspension of the students permission to use electronic communication devices.
